Privacy policy

This site is a catalogue of routes for Commit Hike. Browsing and downloading routes need no account.

What we store

• When you sign in with Google or GitHub: your account's id at that service, your name and the address of your picture. We don't ask for or store your e-mail address.
• What you publish: routes, pictures, translations, ratings and comments, with their dates. Pictures are re-encoded, which removes their metadata (such as a photo's GPS position).
• Route downloads are counted as a number, with nothing about who downloaded.

Cookies

• Session: keeps you signed in and protects forms against forged requests; up to 30 days.
• Language: if you chose one; up to a year.
• Advertising. The site may show Google AdSense ads. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can turn off personalised ads in Google's ad settings; see also how Google uses data.
• Signing in with Google or GitHub happens on their pages, under their policies.

Who sees your data

Your name, your picture and everything you publish are public. We don't sell or share data with anyone except the services the site runs on (hosting, sign-in, ads).

Deleting

You can delete your routes and comments yourself. To delete your account and everything tied to it, write to us.
